It has been developed for the grading of rice according to thickness/width. It can easily separate chalky, red, fine broken rice, and impurities that are bigger than the screen slots.

The Thickness/Width Grader consists of one rotating, cylindrical screen, made of metal sheet where the rice is separated according to size.

Working Principle:

  1. Based on the ratio of Over-size and Under-size rice grains at input, the cylinder configuration is decided.
  2. Rice is gradually fed into the cylinder rotation at constant speed.
  3. The defined gap in the wire mesh type cylinder allows the rice grain smaller than gap to fall through & discharged through the outlet at bottom.
  4. Over-size rice grains travel through the interior of cylinder are discharged on the side through a specific outlet.

Paddy - Non-Basmati - Short, Medium & Long Grains
